Inconel X750 Material Properties Overview
As a nickel alloy manufacturer and supplier in China, Arialloy supplies inconel X750 products.
Inconel X750 (UNS N07750 / W.Nr. 2.4669) is an austenitic nickel chromium alloy strengthened by precipitation hardening. Its composition includes titanium, aluminum and niobium, together with iron and a high nickel content. During aging, titanium and aluminum combine with nickel to form fine gamma prime precipitates within the matrix. These particles restrict dislocation movement, increasing resistance to plastic deformation and creep. Chromium supports corrosion and oxidation resistance, while the nickel rich matrix contributes to toughness across a broad temperature range. The resulting properties depend on the distribution of strengthening precipitates, grain structure and heat treatment, allowing different combinations of tensile strength, ductility and resistance to stress relaxation. Aging substantially increases strength relative to the annealed condition.
The alloy can be hot worked, cold formed and machined, with forming generally performed before final aging. Welding is possible using appropriate procedures, although heavy restraint can promote cracking during subsequent heat treatment. The sequence of fabrication, solution treatment and aging is therefore important for achieving the required mechanical properties in the finished material.
Inconel X-750 Corrosion Resistance
Inconel X750 resists a range of oxidizing and reducing environments, with corrosion behavior broadly comparable to inconel 600 in many media. It also offers strong resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking after precipitation hardening.
In high temperature water, heat treatment, grain boundary condition and residual tensile stress can influence susceptibility to intergranular cracking. Chromium contributes to surface protection, but resistance in a particular medium depends on its composition, concentration and temperature. The alloy should therefore be evaluated in its intended metallurgical condition.
Inconel X750 Mechanical Properties
Inconel X750 develops high strength through precipitation hardening. For 30.2 mm diameter hot rolled bar equalized at 885°C for 24 hours and aged at 704°C for 20 hours, with air cooling after each stage, reported tensile strength is approximately 1200 MPa, 0.2% yield strength 817 MPa and elongation 26.8% near room temperature.
These values are typical rather than guaranteed. Actual acceptance requirements depend on the product form, dimensions, heat treatment and applicable material specification.
Inconel X-750 Temperature Characteristics
Inconel X750 retains high strength at temperatures up to approximately 1300°F (704°C), while oxidation resistance extends to about 1800°F (982°C). Above 1300°F, precipitation strengthening becomes progressively less effective, and load bearing capability decreases. For sustained loading above approximately 1100°F (593°C), solution treatment followed by stabilization and aging improves creep and rupture performance. Permissible stress depends on temperature, exposure duration and the selected heat treatment. Resistance to oxidation at the upper temperature limit does not establish an equivalent continuous loading capability.

Alloy prices naturally respond to changes in the prices of their metallic inputs. For superalloy materials, nickel, chromium, iron, titanium, aluminum, and niobium and other raw metals can represent major cost components. Therefore, fluctuations in these markets may lead to significant changes in alloy prices.
