Inconel 625LCF Material Properties Overview

As a manufacturer and supplier in China, Arialloy supplies cost effective inconel 625LCF products.

Inconel 625LCF (UNS N06626 / W.Nr. 2.4856) is an austenitic nickel alloy containing chromium, molybdenum and niobium, distinguished by enhanced resistance to low cycle fatigue. Molybdenum and niobium strengthen its nickel and chromium matrix through solid solution strengthening, allowing substantial strength in the annealed condition. Compared with conventional inconel 625, this alloy has tighter limits on carbon, silicon and nitrogen. Vacuum induction melting, combined with carefully managed thermal and mechanical processing, produces a fine grain structure that supports improved fatigue performance. Carbon is limited to 0.03%, silicon to 0.15% and nitrogen to 0.02%. These compositional limits and processing requirements work together to improve resistance to repeated mechanical strain and thermal cycling.

The alloy combines good weldability with substantial ductility in the annealed condition. It is supplied mainly as sheet and strip, including material in coil form. During fabrication, cold working increases strength and hardness, while suitable intermediate annealing restores ductility. The final balance of strength, elongation and grain size depends on the processing sequence.

Inconel 625LCF Corrosion Resistance

Inconel 625LCF provides resistance to general corrosion, chloride induced stress corrosion cracking, and localized attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion. Its corrosion performance is broadly comparable to that of conventional inconel 625.

Chromium supports resistance to oxidizing media, while nickel and molybdenum improve performance in reducing environments. Molybdenum also contributes to resistance against localized chloride attack. Low carbon and niobium help limit sensitization during welding, although resistance in aggressive acids depends on concentration, temperature and the condition of the material.

Inconel 625LCF Mechanical Properties

In the annealed condition, inconel 625LCF sheet has typical room temperature tensile strength of about 894 MPa, 0.2% offset yield strength of 469 MPa and elongation of 50%. These values reflect a useful balance of strength and ductility. Cold work increases strength and hardness but reduces elongation.

Inconel 625LCF Temperature Characteristics

Inconel 625LCF combines resistance to oxidation with improved low cycle and thermal fatigue performance at temperatures up to about 650°C (1200°F). Its fine grain structure helps resist damage from repeated strain as temperatures change. Prolonged exposure at intermediate temperatures can promote precipitation, increasing strength while reducing ductility.

The extent of these changes depends on time, temperature and prior cold work. Thermal fatigue performance should therefore be assessed alongside changes in mechanical properties when establishing suitable temperature limits for sustained or cyclic heating.

Since different metals make up an alloy, changes in the value of those metals naturally affect alloy pricing. For superalloys, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and niobium are among the most influential raw materials. Their market fluctuations can therefore cause noticeable movements in alloy prices.

Inconel 625LCF materials are smelted at our own manufacturing site. Our furnace equipment includes more than 30 vacuum smelting and electroslag remelting units, ranging from 50 kg to 5,000 kg per batch. This variety of furnace capacities gives us the flexibility to handle small volume production.

Certainly, our inconel 625lcf material test documentation is supplied prior to shipment. The report contains essential information including the material standard, chemical analysis, mechanical characteristics, dimensions, and heat number.

We use a multi stage verification process for inconel 625lcf: material ratios are controlled during smelting, chemical composition is monitored through analysis, and PMI testing is performed on the finished product. Third party laboratory testing is also available for further confirmation.
