Incoloy 330 Material Properties Overview

As a nickel alloy supplier and manufacturer in China, Arialloy supplies cost effective incoloy 330 products with a strong balance of corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and high temperature stability. Incoloy 330, UNS N08330 / W.Nr. 1.4886, is an austenitic nickel, iron, chromium and silicon alloy containing about 34 to 37% nickel, 17 to 20% chromium and 0.75 to 1.50% silicon.

Nickel contributes resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and supports performance in reducing environments, while chromium improves resistance to oxidizing media. Silicon strengthens the protective surface scale and further improves resistance to oxidation and carburization. The alloy combines moderate yield strength, strong tensile properties, good ductility and toughness with a stable austenitic structure. It retains useful mechanical strength, creep rupture resistance and structural stability during prolonged high temperature exposure and repeated thermal cycling. Resistance to oxidation, carburization and nitridation remains a central material advantage, while resistance to sigma phase embrittlement supports long term metallurgical stability.

Arialloy recommends incoloy 330 for customers prioritizing high temperature corrosion resistance, thermal cycling capability, stable mechanical properties and consistent performance at elevated temperatures.

Incoloy 330 Corrosion Resistance

Incoloy 330 provides good resistance to high temperature oxidation, carburization, nitridation and chloride stress corrosion cracking.

Chromium improves resistance to oxidizing media, while nickel supports resistance in reducing environments and strengthens resistance to chloride induced cracking. Silicon promotes a stable protective oxide layer and reduces carbon penetration into the alloy. The protective scale remains adherent during repeated heating and cooling, helping the material maintain surface integrity through thermal cycling. This combination gives incoloy 330 a strong corrosion profile against oxidizing atmospheres, carbon rich environments and nitrogen containing gases.

Incoloy 330 Mechanical Properties

Incoloy 330 combines moderate yield strength with strong tensile properties, high ductility and useful toughness. Room temperature data show yield strength of 207 to 296 MPa, tensile strength of 552 to 600 MPa and elongation of 40 to 45%. Its austenitic structure provides good formability and resistance to thermal shock, while solid solution strengthening supports stable mechanical performance.

The alloy also retains useful tensile strength and creep rupture strength as temperature rises, giving it a strong balance of strength, ductility and deformation resistance.

Incoloy 330 Temperature Characteristics

Incoloy 330 is distinguished by strong oxidation resistance, carburization resistance and metallurgical stability at elevated temperatures. Nickel and chromium support a protective surface scale, while silicon improves scale adherence and resistance to carbon penetration. The alloy retains its austenitic structure during prolonged heat exposure and resists sigma phase embrittlement.

It also maintains useful strength, creep rupture resistance and ductility through repeated heating and cooling cycles. Oxidation resistance extends to about 1095 to 1150°C, while thermal cycling resistance helps preserve structural stability during sustained high temperature exposure.

The standard shipping basis for our incoloy 330 quotation is FOB. Customers generally arrange the forwarder on their side, while we provide the necessary local support and coordination. If arranging transportation independently is not convenient, we can take care of it and check the corresponding freight cost.

Incoloy 330 pricing is partly determined by the current cost of its raw metallic components. Because metals such as nickel, iron, chromium, and silicon are important cost elements, fluctuations in their prices can translate into changes in the alloy’s market price.

We have in house control of the incoloy 330 melting stage. With over 30 vacuum smelting and electroslag remelting furnaces, including 50 kg, 200 kg, 1,000 kg, and 5,000 kg capacities, we can adjust production to suit different batch sizes. As a result, smaller orders are also feasible.

Certainly, the incoloy 330 MTR is prepared before shipment and conforms to relevant industry documentation requirements. It includes standard identification, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and heat number.

We closely monitor incoloy 330 chemistry during melting through controlled material ratios and chemical analysis. Following completion of the product, PMI testing is conducted, and third-party laboratory testing can be commissioned if an independent result is required.
