Hastelloy G35 Material Properties Overview
As a manufacturer and supplier in China, Arialloy offers competitively priced hastelloy G35 products.
Hastelloy G35 (UNS N06035) is an austenitic nickel alloy containing approximately 33.2% chromium and 8.1% molybdenum. Nickel forms the balance, while iron is limited to 2% maximum. Its high chromium content contributes resistance to oxidizing environments, and molybdenum provides solid solution strengthening while supporting corrosion resistance. The alloy combines a predominantly austenitic structure with good ductility in the solution annealed condition. Its resistance to wet process phosphoric acid is a defining characteristic, together with resistance to localized corrosion in the presence of chlorides. Solution annealing and rapid cooling help retain alloying elements in the matrix and limit the formation of detrimental secondary phases. This metallurgical condition supports both corrosion performance and subsequent fabrication.
The material can be formed and welded using established techniques for nickel alloys. Cold deformation increases strength and hardness, so substantial forming may require intermediate annealing to restore ductility. Suitable joining methods include gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and shielded metal arc welding, with matching G35 welding consumables available for these processes.
Hastelloy G-35 Corrosion Resistance
Hastelloy G35 offers excellent resistance to wet process phosphoric acid, nitric acid, and mixtures containing nitric acid. It also resists chloride induced pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
The alloy has strong resistance to selective dissolution in hot sodium hydroxide. Its resistance to reducing acids is moderate, with performance depending on acid concentration and temperature. In boiling 45% magnesium chloride testing, stressed samples showed no cracking after 1,008 hours. This result describes the test conditions and does not imply immunity in every chloride environment.
Hastelloy G35 Mechanical Properties
In the solution annealed condition, hastelloy G35 combines strength with high ductility. Typical room temperature results for 3.2 mm Sheet include a tensile strength of 738 MPa, a 0.2% offset yield strength of 345 MPa, and 60% elongation. Cold working raises strength and hardness while reducing the ductility available for further deformation.
Hastelloy G-35 Temperature Characteristics
Hastelloy G35 conducts heat more readily as temperature rises, while its elastic modulus decreases. Typical thermal conductivity increases from 10 W/m·K at room temperature to 23 W/m·K at 600°C, with dynamic elastic modulus falling from 204 to 174 GPa. Solution annealing at approximately 1121°C (2050°F), followed by rapid cooling, restores the desired metallurgical condition.
Extended exposure to elevated temperatures can promote secondary phase precipitation, affecting ductility and corrosion resistance. The annealing temperature does not define a continuous service limit.

Hastelloy G-35 is normally quoted FOB, and the customer therefore has the option to appoint a freight forwarder for transportation. We will cooperate with your nominated forwarder on local handling. If you prefer us to coordinate everything related to shipping, we can arrange the transportation and confirm its cost.
One of the key cost drivers for hastelloy g35 is the price of the raw metals required for its production. Market changes affecting nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and iron and other metallic materials can therefore result in noticeable movements in the alloy’s price.
We carry out our own hastelloy g35 smelting with a diversified furnace fleet of more than 30 units. Vacuum smelting and electroslag remelting are both available, with furnace capacities of 50 kg, 200 kg, 1,000 kg, and 5,000 kg. This flexibility allows us to handle orders of different sizes, including smaller batches.
Certainly, we make the hastelloy g35 material test report available before shipping. The report follows applicable industry standards and records the material standard, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and heat number.
We verify hastelloy g35 composition in stages: controlled material ratios during smelting, chemical analysis to monitor composition, and PMI testing after completion. For customers requiring independent confirmation, third party laboratory testing can be arranged.
