Hastelloy C2000 (UNS N06200 / W.Nr. 2.4675) is an austenitic nickel alloy containing chromium, molybdenum and copper. Its nominal composition includes approximately 23% chromium, 16% molybdenum and 1.6% copper, with nickel forming the balance. Chromium strengthens resistance to oxidizing media, while molybdenum and copper improve performance in reducing environments. The copper addition is particularly beneficial in sulfuric acid and distinguishes this material from many other alloys in the same family. Carbon and silicon contents are limited to reduce unwanted precipitation during fabrication. In the solution annealed condition, the alloy combines a uniform matrix with good ductility, supporting forming and welding while maintaining broad resistance to aggressive chemical environments.
Matching welding consumables include solid filler wire and covered electrodes. Their deposited metal provides resistance to both oxidizing and reducing conditions. Appropriate filler selection and welding procedures help preserve joint integrity and corrosion performance. Weld metal properties should be evaluated separately from those of the wrought base material.
Hastelloy C-2000 Corrosion Resistance
With resistance to uniform and localized attack, hastelloy C2000 performs well in acidic solutions containing chlorides and other halides. Its nickel base also provides strong resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking.
The alloy resists sulfuric, hydrochloric and phosphoric acids under suitable combinations of concentration and temperature. Chromium supports resistance when oxidizing contaminants are present, while molybdenum and copper improve performance in reducing media. Corrosion rates depend on concentration, temperature and impurities, so resistance should be assessed against the actual solution chemistry.
Hastelloy C-2000 Mechanical Properties
At room temperature, representative solution annealed sheet, plate and bar exhibit 0.2% offset yield strengths of 345 to 359 MPa and tensile strengths of 752 to 758 MPa, with elongations of 64 to 68%. This combination provides substantial ductility for forming. Cold working increases strength and hardness while reducing the remaining capacity for deformation.
Hastelloy C2000 Temperature Characteristics
As temperature rises, hastelloy C2000 conducts heat more readily while becoming less stiff. Thermal conductivity increases from 9.1 W/(m·K) at room temperature to 21.6 W/(m·K) at 600°C, while the elastic modulus decreases from 207 to 166 GPa.
Solution annealing at approximately 1149°C followed by rapid cooling helps retain a uniform microstructure. Slow cooling can promote unwanted precipitation at grain boundaries. Operating temperature depends on exposure duration, loading and corrosive conditions; the annealing temperature is not a continuous service rating.

If you need to purchase hastelloy c2000, contact us by email at sales@arialloy.com or submit the inquiry form on this page. We will send a detailed quotation based on your requirements. After you confirm that you want to proceed, send us your PO. We will provide the PI for payment and start manufacturing once the prepayment is received. Completion will be communicated to you promptly.
You should normally receive an hastelloy c2000 quotation from us within 24 hours. If we need more details to prepare the offer or cannot quote your requirements, we will get back to you promptly.
We normally offer hastelloy c2000 on FOB terms, with shipping arranged through a freight forwarder appointed by the customer. Our team will coordinate with your forwarder to complete the necessary local operations. If you would like us to handle the transportation, we can arrange it and quote the shipping cost.
The fluctuation of raw metal prices is one of the main reasons alloy prices do not remain constant. For superalloys, the costs of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper and other metallic elements can significantly influence the price of the finished product.
Our hastelloy c2000 material is made using our own smelting resources. With over 30 vacuum smelting and electroslag remelting furnaces and four available capacities, we can adjust the production scale to the order. This flexibility is a key reason we can accept smaller minimum quantities.
Certainly. The material test report for hastelloy c2000 is issued prior to dispatch and serves as formal documentation of conformity. It includes the applicable standard, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and heat number.
Our method for verifying hastelloy c2000 composition combines controlled material ratios, in process chemical analysis, and final PMI testing. If additional assurance is needed, we can arrange third party laboratory analysis and provide the resulting test data.
