Incoloy 27-7MO (UNS S31277) is a highly alloyed super austenitic stainless steel containing approximately 27 percent nickel, 22 percent chromium, 7 percent molybdenum and elevated nitrogen.
Nickel and nitrogen promote a stable austenitic structure, while chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen provide strong resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Nickel, molybdenum and nitrogen strengthen resistance in reducing media, while chromium supports resistance in oxidizing environments. The alloy also provides strong resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, seawater, brine, caustic media and mixed acids. Its high alloy content contributes to a combination of corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and ductility, with tensile strength around 827 MPa, yield strength around 414 MPa and elongation around 50 percent. As temperature rises, the alloy maintains useful structural stability while strength and elastic modulus decrease progressively.

Incoloy 277MO Corrosion Resistance
Incoloy 27-7MO offers excellent resistance to localized corrosion, general corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Its high molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen contents strengthen resistance to pitting and crevice attack, while nickel, nitrogen and molybdenum improve resistance in reducing media. Chromium supports resistance in oxidizing media, giving the alloy strong performance in mixed acid environments.
It also shows excellent resistance to seawater, brine, caustic solutions, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and hydrochloric acid, with particularly strong stability in chloride rich media.
Incoloy 27-7MO Mechanical Properties
Incoloy 27-7MO combines high strength with good ductility. At room temperature, its tensile strength reaches about 827 MPa, yield strength about 414 MPa and elongation about 50 percent, with Rockwell B hardness near 95. Nitrogen contributes to solid solution strengthening while the stable austenitic structure preserves good toughness and formability.
Cold working can further increase strength and hardness, while the alloy retains a favorable balance between load carrying capability and elongation among highly alloyed austenitic materials.
Incoloy 277MO Temperature Characteristics
Incoloy 27-7MO retains useful mechanical stability as temperature rises, while its strength gradually decreases from room temperature levels. Young’s modulus is about 191 GPa at 22°C and decreases progressively with increasing temperature, while thermal conductivity increases.
The alloy also shows predictable thermal expansion as temperature rises. Its temperature characteristics provide a balanced combination of structural stability, ductility and moderate elevated temperature strength, complementing the alloy’s strong corrosion resistance without shifting its main material characteristics away from corrosion and mechanical strength.

If our offer works for you, send us your PO. We will then issue a PI for payment. Production will start after the prepayment is received, followed by a completion notice when the material is ready.
In most situations, our sales team can return an incoloy 277mo quotation within 24 hours. If your request does not contain the information needed for pricing, we will contact you for clarification; if we cannot quote it, we will let you know.
Our standard FOB arrangement for incoloy 277mo allows the buyer to choose the freight forwarder. We will cooperate with your nominated forwarder to complete the local logistics procedures. We are vertically equipped to handle the smelting of incoloy 277mo ourselves. Our plant has over 30 vacuum smelting and electroslag remelting furnaces, with capacities starting at 50 kg and extending to 5,000 kg. This enables us to tailor production batches and support lower MOQs.
We provide an incoloy 277mo test report as part of the pre shipment quality documentation. It identifies the material standard and presents the chemical, mechanical, dimensional, and heat-number information necessary for compliance review.
We establish composition control for incoloy 277mo during the smelting stage through strict material ratio management and chemical analysis. The finished product then undergoes PMI testing, and third-party lab analysis can be arranged to provide further test results.
