Inconel alloys are nickel-chromium-based superalloys that combine high temperature strength, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and structural stability under demanding operating conditions. Their high nickel content supports resistance to thermal cycling and many corrosive media, while chromium contributes to the formation of a protective oxide layer at elevated temperatures. Depending on the grade, elements such as molybdenum, niobium, cobalt, aluminum, and titanium may further improve mechanical strength, fatigue resistance, creep performance, or localized corrosion resistance.
